1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account on Requisite Variety you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. Description of Service
Requisite Variety is a marketplace that connects The List (members who have wishlist items) with The Hunt (members who search for and source those items from secondhand and thrift stores). We facilitate the connection and payment between both parties.
3. User Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your password. You must be at least 13 years old to use this service.
4. The List Responsibilities
Members of The List agree to: provide accurate descriptions and photos of wishlist items, respond to submissions from The Hunt within the stated time window, complete payment promptly upon approving a submission, and not misuse the approval or rejection system.
5. The Hunt Responsibilities
Members of The Hunt agree to: only submit photos of real items they have physically located, accurately represent the condition and price of items, not submit misleading or fraudulent photos, and complete the transaction in good faith after a member of The List approves.
6. Payments
All payments are processed securely through Stripe. Requisite Variety charges a service fee on each completed transaction. Payments are for physical secondhand goods and are subject to our refund policy. We do not store payment card information.
7. Prohibited Conduct
Users may not: create fake accounts, submit fraudulent item photos, harass other users, attempt to complete transactions outside the platform, or use the service for any unlawful purpose.
8. Intellectual Property
Photos and content you upload remain yours. By uploading content you grant Requisite Variety a license to display that content within the app for the purpose of operating the marketplace.
9. Disclaimers
Requisite Variety is a marketplace platform. We are not responsible for the quality, authenticity, or condition of items sourced by The Hunt. All transactions are between The List and The Hunt directly.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Requisite Variety shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
